Vitrectomy for treatment of pre-atrophic eye
This patient presented a pre-atrophic eye, with a complete disorganization of the anterior segment , increased choroidal thickness and a total retinal detachment with severe proliferative vitreoretinopathy. At the beginning of surgery, we used an anterior infusion cannula, to prevent BSS infusion under the choroid. Temporary keratoprosthesis was essential to allow the surgical approach of the posterior segment. At the end we inject silicone oil and suture a clear cornea
