Unstappling the retina from a firecracker injury
Sharing a gripping incident: a 12-year-old girl suffered a firecracker injury while innocently watching. Our examination revealed a sealed corneal tear, a traumatic cataract, and an unexpected culprit – a *_LARGE STAPLER PIN (18mm)*_ embedded in her retina. The surgical procedure was both surprising and delicate, as we carefully removed the pin from the retina, rotated it internally in the vitreous cavity, and safely extracted it through a corneal incision.
