Re operating under oil for recurrent retinal detachment
In this video I describe three cases of recurrent retinal detachment under silicone which were reoperated using a 2-port approach without removing the silicone oil.
This technique has many advantages including less surgical trauma to the conjunctiva and tenon capsule, it is time saving, since silicone exchange is not performed, and there is no required staining as we can easily see the membranes under oil.
This technique was initially described by Dr Steeve Charles.
