Fluorovitrectomy
This video describes the use of fluorescein sodium as a re-emerging dye to stain the Vitreous during chromovitrectomy. Sodium Fluorescein (NaFl) is prepared as follows : 1 ml of 10% NaFl was diluted twice in 10 ml of BSS, resulting in a solution of 0,1%. 0,5 to 1,5 ml was injected in vitreous cavity after switching off the infusion. NAfL enhanced greatly the visualization of the vitreous, especially at its base, improving it's shaving, and helps achieving a safe posterior vitreous detachment.
