A Simple Recipe for Giant Macular Holes
This is a short video that demonstrates a simple ILM flap technique for primary closure of giant holes without the need for adjuvants such as amniotic membrane, autograft, hydrodissection or macular massage. We demonstrate a multi-layer circumferential ILM peel, leaving an ILM flap at the end of each peel to allow for 1. redundancy in case of flap amputation or suction 2. double or triple layer flap scaffold on top of the hole to facilitate closure.
