Giant Retinal Tear and Severe PVR
This video shows a challenging case with total retinal detachment, giant retinal tear and severe proliferative vitreoretinopathy after an ocular trauma, treated previously with three surgeries. A high viscosity silicone oil was removed through a 20 ga sclerotomy. To avoid BSS leakage and allow bimanual surgery, an illuminated infusion canula was sutured in this sclerotomy. Due to retinal shortening we increased the retinal tear to 360* and at the end we inject silicone oil.
